mattydski 560
Just a heads up for all of you Skiers and boarders. My opinion is that the Scottish Ski season is going to kick off later this week. Those of you looking for fresh tracks should check the forecast for Thursday/Friday. Especially at the Jewell of the resorts(in my opinion) Glenshee. If you have never skied in the UK, it is an experience that should not be missed. It is an opportuistic event at the best of times that should be enjoyed when and while it is available. The recent years in general have been poor. Last year was an exception. For those of us that normally go abroad, the Euro is still poor, although improving, so why not take a look at Scotland for a weekend or midweek visit. Don't expect corduroy pistes or steep and deep tree lined glades, though. In Scotland skiing is affectionately called 'Heather Hopping' or 'Rock Hopping' Some of us are fortunate to live close to a Ski resort and know how to interpret the ski reports and read through the advertising bulls**t. So I am offereing all fellow skiers the following service through PM's 1. Honest condition and weather reports-from someone that can see the hills 2. Advice of resort selection from the 5 we have, depending on your experience and the current conditions. 3. If you are coming up during the week, and I have enough notice, Iam happy to give you a guided tour of Gleshee (Preffered) or any of the resorts if the conditions are A1. If you would like advice on any aspect of Skiing in Scotland..Just ask. Finally some online resources, which may be of benefit to you. Ski Scotland Website Winterhighland Snow Forecast Just a small request. If you have, like all of us, had a bad experience in Scotland, dont ruin it for those yet to experience the good days that we also have. So please keep negative comments out. Constructive points/comments only please... Regards Matt
dustyfox 0
The only bad places in Scotland is the cities, especially the likes of Glasgow.
