Animal Welfare Act 2006 - Important

Not sure if members are aware but DEFRA are going through a consultation process to make ammendments to the Animal Welfare Act, if the current proposal goes through it will affect all lurcher owners, it makes recommendations on feeding, housing, transportation, grooming and a host of other set criteria.

 

Some of the recommendations need to be seen to be believed as with most proposed Acts.

or abusive, it does us no favours.

 

Also note no lurcher or terrier organisation has been asked to forward recommendations on the consultation, only The National Greyhound Racing Club. !!!!!

Most of it when read in context is basic common sense. A few anomilies about seperate feeding etc but I spoke to CA about it a few weeks ago as i was worried it was a backdoor anti hunt measure....but appears they are dealing with it. hope they dont cock it up!!!
