how much to charge for rabbits

If you have 3000 acres it would be hard to put a price per head of rabbit!!!!!!! and i never do.You would have to keep detailed records and so on. I would place a set price for the land after having a good look around.

If you are going to do that kind of area that aint far of being a full time job. Thats the way i see it. The fuel/ vehicle bills will be high even if you are local. If you chaps are going to do it for free you wouldn't have the resources to get the the job done to the landowners requirements.

Do i need to go on. You might as well be doing and full time job and then giving half your wages to the landowner for free. :o

Sounds like a major commitment to the landowner and if you do it for free you will soon start to lose intrest if its costing you. Then you will lose the work. ( Ask the land owner for resources like cages /traps/ drop boxes and so on on if he or she is serious they will help if doing it for free)

If a farm is an average size of 200acre thats about 15 farms to get round thats a few man hours..........

If there are crops involved then for a farm of that size he wont be poor. Your providing a service to get rid of them which you should charge for. The sale of rabbits should be classed as your "tip" as you will have good and bad days. You will have to take the rough with the smooth and alot of what you do when being paid for would be avoided if doing it for sport. My advice would be -work systimaticly, do every hedge if it has 2 rabbits in or 2000- just kill them. By working methodicly you wont need to back fill as you will of killed the neibours before they move in. leave lamping til last as a form of clearing straglers. Priceing depends on which county your in, the damage caused and how quick you can do it properly. an acerage price is often the best way to charge . Good luck mate hope it goes well.

If its pure pest control then there is no season .Ferret ,lamp and shoot throughout the summer .Buy a chest freezer and freeze down the best to sell in bulk .50 rabbits used to be the best way to ensure a good price from a dealer .More and they say its too many at once ,less and its never enough to bother with .Charge him what you are happy with no matter what others say ,its you whos doing it .You know it makes sense .
