you want it as big as you can really.

use boards or blocks about 1' high. Then make wooden frames. Fill with mesh, obvious what size mesh you need - anything that a ferret cant get out.

 

You want a good roof on it. if you get a roll of polythene and attach a 2x2 to it, you can put this round the sides of the court. then if the rain comes down heavy you can roll it down and keep the weather off them.

 

Then obviously you want a sleeping compartment. just make a few boxes with lift off lid's. lot easier to clean out.

 

Then just add a few pipes for your ferrets to play about in.
