Guest hpool_hunter Posted December 27, 2008 Report Share Posted December 27, 2008 out with a few mates on a lamping session out of town other night , after a course 1 of the dogs came back with a limp , and noticed one of his nails as been ( knocked up) , at first he was just holding it up , and limping abit , with a couble of days rest now , he is able to walk on it , but the toenail is still sticking up on his foot , the dog isnt been planned on been run again for a while . but is a lurcher still able to run with a knocked up nail when a good rest as been giving? i know he is booked in at vets this week coming and as been advised just to keep him rested up . Guest chook Posted December 28, 2008 Report Share Posted December 28, 2008 Yes they can still run - but the tendon and knuckel(sp) needs time to heal, once its healed up, the knuckel will fuse - you will just have to watch the nail and keep it as short as you can, as it wont where down naturaly.
