how do [you] start a purse net

hi

There are many ways to start a purse net on the ring but how do you start?

what's the best way to start?

i have bin making nets for 2 years now but i want to try something new

Start on a loop of hemp instead of a ring, leaving about an 18ins tail, when the net is finished tie your ring on as normal, cut the loop you started on and pull the net off the loop then tie the ring on in the same way you would normally using the 18inch tail. Hope this makes sense.
