Bush Rummager 4,769 Posted December 14, 2008 Report Share Posted December 14, 2008 funny thing all those years ive been going to new mexico and texas , all over ,never saw yappers apart from a terreir collie pet come hunter, ill ask about and see whats getting bred if you want a dual purpose dog , ive saw a few out there milt garret breds them thyell do 2 0r three minutes are fast big and will spin a coyote ,he keeps all rounders ill ask about as illbe over there in feb millts a funnny fecher but a genuine dog guy ,i saw some good deerhound crosses at weekend big boned and fast but dont no what wind they would have dave platts from the uk has being sending a few over , but i would go for milt garrets strain or somebody my freinds no and i no wyoming jacks are difficult but so are desert jacks but because they have had rain there plentifull and easier at moment , if dutch ever breeds phoebees pups there cracker jack hare bitches and i mean good , a male out of that line ,maybe take to coyotes as there got coyote hounds in them i saw two of his catch and kneck a coyote un asissted first one they saw , cant say much more it sound like the dogs maybe alrite you have if you cross them but ive never saw better dogs than phoebe and her pups angie for feet durability , but dont no when heel breed them they are real machines , ill ask if any the litter he bred killed coyotes as there 3 past now Whin, the black and white dog, is that Luke? seems Like a lifetime ago he was in E.D.R.D mag with the fox, never been a good judge of time, must be getting on a bit now....... whin 463 Posted December 14, 2008 Author Report Share Posted December 14, 2008 one day ill get a scanner got some real pics but would need to make sure people couldnt steal them as its a bit history , i remember the first nite he flushed a roe was coming home through an estate saw the eyes nipped in with the subaru he chased it and buckled it on his own , realy hope lana gets bred this season , saluks are fine but take a bit more entering with them, you just piont and they go ,but not great pets and the way the law is get you in trouble if you are not on top with them , best coli type ive saw and owned but not good pets and fechers with other dogs Quote Link to post
whin 463 Posted December 16, 2008 Author Report Share Posted December 16, 2008 mhirn the cream and black saluki she got knocked down chaseing a big rabbit any way took her to vets muscle damage stitches etc gave her six weeks of last fortnite gave her road work and had her bolting rabbs , last week not to hot as she was rusty , any way took her lamping on some winter wheat rabbits away out far ,away she goes runs it up the hedge keeps it out bang first rabbit , second she herds it in goodnite , third never left the seat i says that do as i had another young dog to try elsewere, so shees on the road to recovery try her tonite on something thtall test her a bit ,hopefully sheel be back to normal for when the hare flushing starts as she was getting good catching every time we were out , it seems that line of dogs were ment to break your heart but catch lots of game , suppose you cant have everyhthing, Quote Link to post

Thats why I run the Salukis these days they have the brains and strength cope with anything there quarry will take them through day or night, with or without lamp. Quote Link to post
whin 463 Posted December 22, 2008 Author Report Share Posted December 22, 2008 ye there strong dogs i bred even the colli grews are a type not seen much nowadays and ye thta pics is a bit of history luke got piosoned he ran a hare legaly fetched it ,he drunk out a dub while i was getting other dog ready there was pioson run off from farm and good nite took him to vet and it was toxic piosons ,was gutted ,as only got one litter and they were very good ,best allround dogs ive bred , better than my saluks apart from coursing big land but for rabbs hares roe fox very good dogs ,,never saw them betterd ,the black saluk is his grand daugther, and the black and white collie cross his daughter , maybe breed mother to son as the male dog is a topper ,but got a few colli crosses to see first ,bush thanks for the photo, he had feet like shovels but pacy with it ,but litte fechers at times ,got my old hogg brougues on p douglas used to get them cheap , maybe you could send me a copy of luke with fox or tell me what copy he was a biiggy Quote Link to post

How do you find that colli line as regards to hunting up whin? finding/ putting game up themselfs daytime? looks a proper grafter.
