i think its the fact that alot more pups are going to non working homes the amount of adverts i see with work show or pet is unbelievable one time lads used to breed for themselves and there mates now i see everyone walking about with pats i think theyll end up like jacks breeding for money and work will go out the window

i totally agree i live in cumbria and they are in the paper every other week for stupid money!! best of it is i have seen people walking around with dogs with under and over shot mouths and they are paying top dollar for that type of crap they are off ther heads...

Give them away free to the that share your blood and if they truely are genuine they will never pass the pup on if it isnt suitable, instead they will hand it back. its hard to find good guys and even harder to find good blood, but if you do then its worth being genuine. :good: theres more bullshit talked in this terrier game than anything...people saying they are only breeding for them selves, but you find they always have a pup for sale. They talk like a legend, but under scrutiny you find they dig 3 a year!!!! :D:D:D:D:D thanks god for those boys that keep money out of the equation... :good:

when you have found the right guys i agree give them pups,i've given and still give to the same people over the years, but when people take the piss,, the worst i had was with a guy i was doing terrier work with for a hunt in shorpshire, we'd been friends for years i had given him 7 terriers, but one day i asked him for a bitch pup back, out of a bitch i had given him and out of my dog ..well things started going down hill after that i never got my pup and when he got sacked the terriers ended up in a skip with a hole in there heads.. lots of friends when your giving pups..... genuine boys

i agree to an extent...but i must add summat...I have absolutely no expectations off favours off strangers,,My terrier was £150 ..The most Ive ever paid for a dog...BUT why should people give dogs away to be genuine...If something costs something your more inclined to look after it..as opposed to a freebie.. Money and dogs are sadly inexticably intwined together, a small band of friends can perpetuate a line or type for a few years within their "closed shop " but eventually outsiders will have to come into it.

Take coursing dogs for example , If i was getting a pup out of top class paernts, I wouldnt bat an eyelid at paying anything up to a grand...why not ? You dont get a ferrari for the price of a focus!!!!!!

better off selling pups at a price where you are going to manage to sell them all to good homes than asking too much for them and then been stuck with them till they are older. lose your money feeding them. most of the time you can't make money out of bredding any pups. i always only have pups when i want one for myself.

Don't breed for money - breed for yourself - simple, I have a bitch here in pup at the moment, if she had ten pups at least three of the smallest would get PTS, you might not agree but its f**k all to do with anyone else they will be my pups, each and everyone of the remaining pups will be put out to genuine lads that are gonna try and work them, Now I'm not saying its ideal for everyone to give pups away but for me - well i make enough at work to be happy with my lot.

If I were to sell them then £100 - £150 is about right I would think.

I would rather keep two for myself and put the rest down than advertise them on a public forum or in a magazine, way too many wankers out there to just let anyone take them.

I don't breed as a rule, however it has got to a stage where this bitch has had the bulk of this seasons work put her way, she could die at any dig and that is the reason for lining her.

She has had a very good dog put over her and I'm sure I could sell the pups on his name alone for a good few quid, but I won't.

:good:
