wag 13
hi all , i am looking for any info on a pecar 6x45 fixed chs model , i have a chance to buy one second hand real cheap and would like to know if it would be suitable for my 243 which will mostly be used for lamping and some stalking ie will it let enough light in for lamping . SportingShooter 0
For a .243, I would be tempted to go for a higher magnification scope, perhaps a variable, so that the longer foxes can be taken without struggling to see backstops, and other factors. With good glass, it should draw in a good deal of light with a x45 objective lens. I would advise, if you could, to try the scope on the lamp, not necessarily shooting it, just seeing how clear it is. The only seemingly official information I can find on Pecar scopes is here Quote Link to post

woz 260
i wouldnt have a 6x scope again.i started off with a 6-42 s&b on my 223 and to be honest i used to take fox at over 200 yards BUT shot placement was always an issue,i then put the scope on my hmr and rabbits at 200 was almost impossible trying to get head shots the scope is now on my 22lr which it is well suited and im finally happy with it...........
