liongeorge 7
I have only been back to ferretting now for a couple of seasons but have found a couple of useful things thjat I thought I'd share with you guys. Comments welcome. 1. To save cold wet knees I wear neoprene sports knee suupports. much more comfortable and light than any knee pads, v wrm and provide just enough padding. 2. there are some banks i work around an industrial estate that are completely covered in nettles, fine when they have died down but there are always stalks and in spring those b**ard fresh nettles . I wear nitrile gloves from work (am a mechanic) stings dont get through but good touch for net setting. 3. For my ferts bedding in winter i buy B & Q loft insulation made from recycled bottles i think its 7.50 a roll and it lasts for vever. V cosy non ichy. Just chuck it when it gets smelly. Would like to hear if anyone out there has any other tips to pass on to make life easiier etc Out today 3 in the bag 2 little burries Great fun. Happy hunting Quote Link to post

farlap 19
After yesterday my only tip is NEVER GIVE UP because when you think you aint gonna do much things can change. my late father in law was a real old style country man and he always swore that if a ferret lies up the best way to get it out is to put a bit if smoking (ie burning) straw from the ferret box in the bury. Tried it once nd it worked a treat I must say although no doubt someone will tell me why its not a good idea. Quote Link to post
