SeanEdgo 29
Hi all, my collie x is 11 months old and will sit, stay, down and scratch my arse etc however when off the lead she turns deaf coming back when she wants and if there is another dog shes gone. she doesnt stay close either. she will walk to heel off the lead but as soon as i tell her to get on thats it. i have 2 other lurchers that i have trained and are very obedient ( neither of these are collie x's). a few people have reccomended the training collars? how would these help me? what are the best for my needs? it needs sorting as she could put herself in danger and me in trouble. and obviously i would love to start abit of lamping with her but cant. i have tried startin again with treats, a smack on the nose etc but to no avail. She is rabbit mad and has caught ones whilst walking with mixy and in the hedges. any help would be much appreciated sean Quote Link to post

She listens when she wants to, Had a bad episode not to long along ago, took her for a wander with the lamp, slipped her on one and she went......and she went.........and she went. She wouldnt come back, I called like hell :realmad: :realmad: :realmad: but she didnt want to no, then she ran into the road and nearly got hit by cars coming either way . I was gutted, still am. Guest young lampers
had the same problem with my suluki x bitch not so long ago thats also rabbit mad and will hunt around all day so ive started training her again from scratch,i let her off the lead let her wonder out abit then when she looks back at me i give her two blows with the wistle and when she comes i give her a little bit of meat, and now when she hears the wistle she thinks treat and runs straight back. a mate of mine used an old bit of washing line and after an electric colllor but his dog used to gets so far away and it new it was out of the range of the collor and when he took the washing line off it new it was to far away and used to run.
