Unbelievable rescue forum

This is what they had to say about e-collars.

Just because they would f*ck up a dog if they tried to use one, they think they are "turture" devices....this forum makes me sick. So I pm'd the person looking for advice with a huge comprehensive message about how to train her dog, with or without the e-collar and she was really appreciative. I was actually banned before from that forum for suggesting the use of prong collars and e-collars for certain dogs. Not only that but some of my posts in the argument were deleted so that it looked like they were the only ones making points, as if I had no comebacks.

I'm only on the forum looking to see if I can get a decent dog.

This is what they had to say about lamping -

But thats to be expected. I don't really care about that. Each to their own sort of thing. But the thing is, they find it weird that people eat rabbits they catch, yet some of them probably eat battery chicken and eggs, intensively reared pigs, etc.

Seriously though, you'd think that rescue people would know something about training. And the way they don't give dogs to homes that are less than perfect - they'd rather the dog be put down that go to a home where someone rents, or works all day. Their holier than thou attitude makes me sick.

This is the same forum where I was told that pack structure dosn't exist. :wallbash:

They also all agreed that Weimaraners have absolutely no guarding instinct whatsoever, which I disagree with, its supposed to be one of the traits of the breed.

Anyway, I had to let my annoyance out somewhere!

with people like this ul never win i see it everyday(im a dog warden)one thing that made me smile this week was the ad battersea dogs home had in the countrymans weekly this week...advertising for country homes...it was refreshing to see a rescue centre on our side.....at the end of the day what better place for a lurcher to go to than a working home....

there are one or two rescue centres seeing the light however most are blind to it!!! oooh and try telling my weimaraner he has no guarding instinct at 4am if ur in my yard/house lol.... i wouldnt argue!!!

Haha, exactly mate!

I think there are some much better rescues in Britain, breed specific, etc. and there are definitely more of them...

Even if the dog goes to a working home where its in a shed/kennels a lot, its better than being in kennels with no work!
