Up and on em stanima dogs

Recommended Posts

Before the ban what type of dogs did you lads use for those animals with a bit of stanima and speed where the quary didnt always have to keep running and running until it escaped or got caught but could simple hit and edge or a wood? Antlered rabbits and big eared one and also average ones too.

DOgs that got straight to the point, none of this boxing the hare and lolloping about for ages before a strike was made, yet could still run acorss field after field if necessary? Both day and night. What breeding and percentages. Did fen dogs do well in this or was they abit slow at getting up there. Do you think a dog thats ran on the lamp learns to get up there or is it breeding a major part?

Lets hear your opinions and stroies, maybe a little debate and any pictures of dogs which excelled in the approach im talking about, a dog that could could take hares and deer in a relativly small fields but didnt find to much difficulty taking them in big fields either.

Let have it lads and lasses

littletimmy, I live a world apart from you but I have seen the kind of dogs you are talkin about. I cant really say they were any kind of breed but I know what you are referring to. Over here we dont have all the fractions of this breed and that breed but we do have the kind of dogs you are referring to. They are fast and agile but they can hold it and most importantly they WANT to catch and kill. Them are the kind I like brother. Matter of fact, them are usually the only kind I will feed. I have had a few of these kinds of dogs in my life but they werent any specific cross or breed.
