woolbr8stl 0
Our first stop was at an old farm with a big barn that had just been purchased for a new development. The barn was scheduled to be torn down . We let my friend's bitch out first, since she hadn't been out in a while. At 10 yrs old she's still ready to go. The first outbuilding she is in baying in no time. We remove all the old lumber and junk and begin digging. We open to her: While she's working, the hog is digging away straight up next to the hole we dug and almost ends up in our laps. They dig away pretty fast. We were about to drop another hole in front of the hog, when the dirt beneath our feet began to move. Here is what landed right at our feet: The two holes after we are done, one we dug and one the hog dug straight up: The hog is snared and mailboxed for relocation later, We move on to another property and walk the edge of the woods by the beans. My bitch enters and opens up. We dig to her and a possum, I didn't get a good shot of him, other than his nose: Great day, we didn't get to dig to the third dog out that day, but it wasn't for lack of trying. We must have checked 15-20 settes after the first 2 digs with no luck. ! Waiting: In case you wonder, we prefer to release quarry whenever possible to hunt another day. If the landowner is around, well, we do what they want. Gotta keep everyone happy 8-) Good hunting, Wooly Quote Link to post
