jak n meg 4
when using see saw traps do you bait them for squirrels? Quote Link to post
john b 38
Nope. As long as they can 'see through' they just can't resist investigating. Place them at the base of trees and in areas where they play. There are some photos of locations I've has success with on my website HERE scroll almost to the bottom of the page Let's see some pics of your traps though Quote Link to post
jak n meg 4
a few pics of the trap i have made i havent tried it out yet tho, i will getr it set soon Quote Link to post
john b 38
well they look OK to me mate well done. Maybe a bit on the heavy side (is that decking you've used ?) but no problem with that. The mesh end is good - large, clear and very well fastened. The 'U' lock is spot on too. Why did you leave the base board extra long though ? Is there a theory behind that ? Quote Link to post
jak n meg 4
got a rat today in my homemade see saw trap the little f****r was under my shed and had dug up through the floor. had it set a while now but he couldnet help himself Quote Link to post
victor 10
one question, how do you kill the ratt when you caught him lol, if i had terriers id let them deal with it, but outher wise i wouldnt reach in to smack it on the head.. air rifle? Quote Link to post
aaronpigeonplucker 32
open te trap and quikly put a sack round the opening. empty the rat/squirrel into the sack. then wack where you think the rat is in the sack with a big stick/club/cricket bat/salmon priest/sledge hammer. or you could stick an air rfle through the wire with at least 6 ib/ft of force.
