Well, after trying all week to get out stalking the weather was a no go all week, So this morning very early  we headed off for the 2 1/2 hour drive in the pouring rain the weather started to settle a little and we were hoping the fallow would make an appearence as they don't like the wet windy weather.........We stalked up the fields only to be confronted by about 25 deer, and made our way gently to a shootable position.

The deer were scattered all over the field and the stalk was tough.........We spotted a young buck about 120 yards away and crawled in on our bellies, in the saturated grass i might add.......

We could not get a good shot from the prone position so my friend moved forward and i said to jump over the fence, As we did the buck saw us and stared at us for ages, with a kick from my friend he said take the shot but as the fence was now to our right he said what the fook !!!! you waiting on, forgetting i was a leftie i had to throw my leg back over the fence, stradaling the barb wire, and it move than making its presence felt on my manhood i couldn't take the shot so my friend moved forward to the next post and BANG neck shot down he went.............

So i left him to do the business, and i headed on and low and behold bagged a pricket at 109 yards neck shot he never felt a thing and the clump of grass he had was still in his mouth, little knowing that it would be his last...........What a morning...... :clapper:

The fallow hate the cold and wet driving rain and will very rarely leave the comfort of the woods unless starving, best stalking for fallow is always after a few days heavy rain........they also hate the frost so very frosty mornings are always poor.......they don't like grazing on the frozen grass.......... ;)

good to hear you got one also........... :clapper:
