tote 870
I gave Jimmy a ring after tea to see if he wanted to go out for a shine with his dog Bob. He said he couldn't make it but I could take Bob if I wanted. Ah well,8pm saw me and my eldest son Dylan set forth with the waterproofs on. Into the first field and Bob was slipped on a rabbit right away,he missed it then fecked off across the field. You'll can guess what happened next. With that field wasted we headed into the next one,Charlie made an appearance and although he was interested in the squeak he never left the side of the hedge before he slunk off. After all the squeaking all the rabbits were sitting at their buries beneath the hedges. Next field Bob had 2 slips and picked up the second one which was a clamper. He picked up a clamper on his first slip in the following field, then should have taken the next 2 rabbits out of their seats,1 he even had in his mouth twice but dropped it.He also missed another rabbit in this field by badly overshooting it on the turns. The next field was waterlogged but I spotted one rabbit sitting out in the middle on a bit of higher ground.I walked Bob out to it and slipped him at 30yards, after a lot of splashing about through the flooded field Bob got the rabbit. Another 3 fields were walked and Bob had 5 slips and only managed to pick up the 1 rabbit, the last 3 rabbits he ran I thought he should have had at least 2 of them. It would be fair to say it wasn't one of his better performances, even his recall wasn't as good as it was on Thursday night. Pic of Dylan with Bob. Quote Link to post
