Dog Ownership Test

Recommended Posts

How would you feel about taking a test to own your dogs? Please guys, have a look here:

This is looking like it may well get thru and passed as law :icon_eek: What do you lot think? I for one am TOTALLY against it.

This is a link to a question and answer thread by the knobhead Ryan who is behind all this malarky.

Thoughts, anyone?

some of it i agree with and some i dont. like the part about increasing fines and sentences for abuse or neglect and increasing the level of canine awareness to dog owners. i dont like the part of being asked questions about dog behaviour.

could this law not also help get some of the dogs that prats are running around with of the streets and using as weapons?

is this law for the whole of britain or is northern ireland excluded?

its all a bit confusing so it is

I agree with some of it as well ... but I don't agree with it being a LAW, and being told that I HAVE TO do certain things to avoid being fined or jailed. Also, the intent is to have "plain clothes" folks policing this, with the right to approach you and demand proof of having sat the DOT or risk being fined, fined again in the event of non payment, and eventually jailed.

I would encourage you to have a look at the second link I posted, and have a good read of this smug b@stard's comments.

i read some of the second link but there was 35 pages on it. if its plain clothed folk policing this id tell them were to go if they questioned me. and im sure that some peole would do a lot more than just tell them were to go.

also does this mean the dangerous dogs act 1991 will be changed?

as with knifes, guns, cars or any other tool that could be dangerous in the wrong hands the answer is education not tougher laws licencing or tests!

i agree with some of it but why not bring back the dog licence and when you pay the fee you get booked in to dog training class?

i know nothing is ever that simple but this dot thing just smacks of another back door tax and i doubt it would do much for dog welfare as the morons would simply not bother with it!

cheers

ps i picked up my lurcher pup last night! :boogie::boogie: ill get some pics of him up in running dogs later!
