RYESWAY 0
Ryseway-Check the silencer end mate {if fitted} ,is it an oval shape as opposed to a true circle. If so the silencer is knackered and should be replaced. This oval end definately throws the shot out .The mags on the 10-22 should be washed out in soapy water ,dried and lightly oiled .Do not keep them in your pocket as they collect dust faster than anything and this is what causes jamming.Personnally I set the sights for 70 yds as most of the rabbits we lamp are at or around this distance .With practice its possible to judge shots out to 100 and as close as a few yds.Set at 70 ,a rabbit at 5 yds requires hold under of 4 inches on my set up wheras a rabbit at 100 requires hold over of 2inches.The ruger 10-22 gets my approval.I stay away from the banana mags as these are bad fitting and interupt the resting of the rifle. when you re assemble after cleaning, put 2 full turns on the spring, instead of the factory 1 1/2, this makes them much more reliable. Also knackers the springs faster .Cleaned regularly they last for years. cheers for that [bANNED TEXT] just look at the silencer looks fine to be fair its not had alot through it ive put a 1000 through it and the lad i got it from put about 2000 through.[bANNED TEXT] amo are you useing Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
It doesnt knacker the springs any faster. I work in the uk,s biggest 10/22 specialist shop, and we have been doing this for years, and havent buggered a spring yet. Even if it did shorten their life, its worth it for a more reliable mag, dont you think? on the subject of mags, the eagle 10 shot ones are far more reliable than standard ones, and at 12 quid for two, they are very cheap. Guest A Sick Old Man
I Got two of those Eagle mags from you Baldie, and have had no problem with them. I stuff one with Subbie, the other with Hi power. It works well, not a jam or misfeed yet, I use Winchester ammo. YIS Sick Quote Link to post
