ruger 10/22 trigger

I just picked up a ruger 10/22, the triggers really heavy, has anyone else had this problem? and is a trigger kit easy to fit, or is it a gunsmith jobby?

Trigger kit, they're dead easy AFAIK. Or you can replace the whole trigger unit, which is 2 or 3 pins, and a 30 second job.
