mattydski 560
Hi all, feel a bit guilty about not posting enogh pics, so i thought i'd share my evenings entertainment with you. We thought we had better get a few rounds in through the .243 tonight. So we went up an old range up on a friends permission. Great location, with a natural hill about 250-300 yards away from the backstop. It was getting poor light quickly, so we had to fire off a few shots in quick succession. We then went closer in to check the score on the doors, and also get a few shots in on some new .22lr ammo at 60-70 yards off the bonnet of the landy. So heres a few pictures. After a few warm up shots, i've posted the best group shot of 3 shots of Federal Premium 100gr soft points at unknown range (250-300yards ) off the bipod. The picture needs to be rotated 90 desgrees at the shots were in the bottom left quadrant. Quite pleased with group, but need to adjust the zero on the scope before i'm back to live targets. This will get done next week, back on the range. It was dark before i got the opportunity to try some non Premium Feds(£7 quid less abox). Elevation is as expected on a 100 yard zero, but the windage is about an inch out at 100 by estimate from the last zeroing seesion Tried RWS hollow point subs against my normal winchesters. Winchester had a much tighter group as shown in the pics. So i'll be sticking with my old faves. .243 shot was My Sauer 202, with a Nikko diamond 4-12x56mm scope, and a PES mod, .22lr was my CZ 20" style. The rifle in the back drop was my mate Tikka varmint in .223, with a Bushnell. Quote Link to post

No where near that range, unlesss suported on bipod or other convenient resting point. .22lr only for rabbits, .243 is abit expensive to waste on coney, even if it does skin, gut and cook em for you.
