Squirrel_Basher 17,102
Called in last night ,on a small holding that has a few hens in a coop by the side of a beef unit .Saw the farmer earlier on in the week and he said that one or two foxes were getting about despite our efforts in the spring .I know as well as anyone else will that now is the time of year when cubs will be extending their nightly patrols and sure enough it was a this years cub that had the misfortune to be around the coop .Saw the eyes as i pulled in to the yard and slowly eased the .222 from the case, loaded up ,switched on the light force and shot it at about 60 yards .No need to call or stalk it .One of the fastest kills i can remember.
