Robert Harvey 0
Hi Guys, I've been thinking of buying a new air rifle (Weihrauch HW100S) set above 12 ftlbs. Any comments from you all would be greatly appreciated. I know I will need a FAC which is being processed at the moment. The thing I'm not sure about is where to have the power set. I've been told that above 30 ftlbs the pressure tends to tear off the skirts of the pellets so thats about as high as it should be set unless solid lead bullet pellets are used and they are apparently very expensive. Most experienced shooters I talk to say go for a 22 rimfire rifle but I do like this air rifle and I'm very tempted to up the pressure and stay with it. The intention is to use it to shoot targets and then rabbits as accurately as possible and avoid any wounding. Let me know your feelings. Many thanks, Rob Quote Link to post
SA1Gunner 0
Don't quote me on this fella but I think the HW 100 FAC run at about 24/25 ft lbs and you get about 35/40 shots. If you only want an FAC PCP HW 100 is a good rifle, check out the thread on here though first, it seems that some HW 100 have accuracy problems, http://weihrauchowners.freeforums.org/late...bers-t1654.html Quote Link to post

Many thanks, Rob i have had the 100s mate, its heavy to carry around and the early ones tended to blow the seals in the air filler tube chamber, where you screw it into the rifle ,unfortunately most dealers say the guns have to be sent back to hull cartridge, buy yourself a rimfire mate it will be a fraction of the cost and far more accurate over 70yrds... Deker 3,491
I have a 12ft lb, an FAC air rifle, an assortment of rimfires and centrefires and shotguns..... but this is what I do. For most regular people I would have to suggest a .22LR rimfire. Why do you want to pay all that money for an air rifle with limited shots, bottles etc, when you can buy a brand new rimfire for £250 or less, and put in shorts or shot shells all day, more versatile, cheaper, lighter, much bigger choice of ammo with power availability from about 30ft lb up to about 200ft lb......after all you need a FAC for both!!!!!
