Yeah, one shot in Woodenbridge Wicklow. Heard of a few others being shot east coast alright.

Is it the same deer caliber restrictions as the normal regulations in the Rep of Ireland (22-250 +)?

Yes same calibre restrictions, as you'll see from the wording in the link it enables those who hold deer licences to shoot them, ie it doesn't mean everyone with a .22 can have a pop at them now.

:. It would be great, to take them with running dogs, as they would be ideal, ( especialy for whippets) pity about the law.

 

Personally glad about the law. I will tell you this - a muntjac would rip a whippet to shreds - they are not to be messed with with light running dogs.
