shot gun & camo tape

Recommended Posts

:gunsmilie: Can anyone say if it would be ok to apply camo tape a my shot guns, would the glue of the tape react with the barrel? your thoughts please :gunsmilie:
i have done this before with a gun, it made shit of it,when i took it off the barrel was all rust the blue was gone i was left with two silver barrels, the tape looks good, but with the heat or cuts on the tape let in water that you can not dry or clean, i stay away from it,hope this helps

I wouldn't use the tape on any gun of mine. In fairness I haven't used tape, but I would expect rust to be a problem as Sounder says  Two options I would go for would be a camo gun sock or hydrographic dip (or other similar treatment).

try spraying it, USMC pro do a purposely designed weapon spray that doesn't effect metalwork ...etc there's also a thinner made by the same company that takes the paint off without damaging anything underneath you will have to buy a brown and olive and do the pattern yourself but it works.

i use the self cling tape, sticks to itsself and not the gun, and when it stops sticking, in the washing machine with it! exelent piece of kit just to keep in the bag. ive used it for camoing all sorts of stuff, from camp chairs to bottles of water.
