A Lamp for Lamping.

Recommended Posts

Hi ,

I am new to all this and have seen a lamp called a Nightblaster, made by Optronics, at a resonable price ( compared to Lightforce etc.)

Can any one tell me if they are any good ?? and confirm they have a 55 watt halogen bulb ??

I am hoping to make a start at lamping for rabbits quite soon.

Many thanks - in eager anticipation.

If you are just starting then for around a tenner you can get a rechargable 2 million candle lamp that does a good job, tho i bought one to replace an old blue eye as a temperary measure a few years ago n still use it today :big_boss:

Steer clear of the handheld cheapo 2mil lamps. The batterys last about 2 mins in most of them. I use a clulite laserlite and a Nitestalker now with either 1 7ah or 2 7ah batterys wired together to increase my lamping time. They seem good enough so far. The NS has the edge on the beam with tightness and length.

my lightforce 170 went tits up the other night (i was gettin on well with it) and my bro inlaws' lamp is the 170 with a dimmer switch (over £100 for the lamp alone), it blew the fuse and it was its first night out of the box... luckily i had my clulite blaserlite and it saved the night... i bought a laserlite about ten years ago and never had to do feck all to it only change the bulb once in a blue moon... i havent heard much about the nightstalker but i hope its made better than that lightforce shite...
