landrover 6
ok cheers. i have no notches on one of them then notches up to 4. i guess this means 0=full then. no no notches is either cylinder or skeet as ss says if five is cylinder, then 0 is skeet or the other way round , Quote Link to post
Geoff.C 0
The chokes on my Lanber are just like yours Karl. They are just as SS says except no notches for skeet instead of five. Take a tip, put the full and 3/4 somewhere safe. Unless you intend shooting at long range, you will not need them. I have an extra 1/4 and shoot double 1/4 for more or less everything. I find that an edge on clay pigeon can be easily broken at 40 yards with a 1oz load, using 1/4. So a woody, much larger than a clay can be taken with 1oz of six shot, at similar range. Reading through similar posts to yours on here, I think new shooters worry too much about choke. Put in your skeet and 1/4, or 1/4 and 1/2 at max and get some shooting done. You will hit more with the open chokes, and raise your confidence. Don't overtighten the chokes, but do remove them regularly and clean them. Refit with oiled threads. Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Good Advice there Geoff. Better than paying a Gunsmith £50 to remove a set of stuck solid chokes. 1/4 1/4 is a good all round clay choke and will break anything in reality and Pigeon? You wont see them for feathers Regards SS Quote Link to post
