BlueCoyote 0
interesting weekend with a pack of coyotes singing at the back of my property - closer than normal- but they didnt stay long! caught a rat snake IN my kitchen saturday.. sorry no pics... but he was a pretty one! stinky.. but pretty. then today my husband was moving pieces of chopped wood from an old wood pile and found a NEST of copper heads. i had never seen a nest before, so it was vastly interesting to me, all the while my husband and aunt kept fussing at me that i would get bitten....... i wasnt worried. some people believe these lizards are toxic. supposedly if a cat or dog eats one of these lizards they'll suffer neurological damage....... but its not true according to my research. supposedly as the skink gets older it loses the striking blue tail. and i've seen spiders catch them in webs and eat them Edited August 11, 2008 by BlueCoyote

BlueCoyote 0
yes they're out here but i havent seen any myself in a loooooong time. my aunt living on the other end of the state has seen them on her property eating her chickens. but she lives in a swampier area than us. and cotton mouths, i believe, like water.... we also call them Water Moccasins for that reason lol when we first moved out here two years ago the bully bitch found this big b*****d for us... it was under the steps at my husband's work shop. so far we havent found anymore rattlers out here. just copperheads and rat snakes.
