mattydski 560
Just cooked a meal for the missus... Now i like to cook, and I dont do reheating.... So i cooked Duck breast with blackberry sauce, with oven cooked potatoes in three cheese and mustard sauce....... And went to the garden for some veg.. Decided to dig some turnip and swede and do a puree. They are only just up to size for picking, and not old.. They are the most stringy things I have ever eaten.. Now i dont normally have failures in the garden..Meal was excellent, apart from my own grown shite.... Any Ideas Matt
BlueCoyote 0
sorry to hear they turned out bad. we had a couple of rows of turnips this season and they were great.. though my husband disagrees. he hates them cooked! he'd rather wash them off and eat one like apple! Funnily enough, i also grate both in to salads, add a little olive oil and seasame seed and sultanas. Very nice raw, cooked.....pants!
BlueCoyote 0
they're like mild radishes to me when they're raw. i could go either way with them. and yes he adds them to the salad too
