Guest SJM
We were like drowned rats It was a good night though lads, thoroughly enjoyed it. Chester's dog Taz ran very well considering this dog hasnt lamped since the winter, he has tons of stamina and just carried on getting better as the night went on. He has the perfect acceleration and strike for a lamping dog and doesnt tire easily. If it wasnt for the minor retreiving thing I reckon he would wipe the floor with any contenders in the lamping competition. Blondie also ran well, this bitch took a few runs to get the hang of things as she has mainly been used for larger game, but once the penny dropped she was running well! She flies out to them at a nice pace and the thing that impressed me most about her was the way she had her head right down, mouth open, snapping away as soon as she got on terms with the rabbit, she did well for a large sized and heavily built bitch. It made a nice change for me from shooting them (they were getting wide anyway, starting to zoom off as soon as I crept down into the fields with the rifle ) , the farmer is over the moon and it helps get the dogs fit so everyone's happy Quote Link to post

I think he gets better as the night wears on though, he starts to grip the rabbits harder. Dont forget, some lads on here would love a soft mouthed dog like him, less bruised meat if your selling to the game dealers or whatever, theres a silver lining in every cloud Quote Link to post
