Hi guys not a lurcher question but thought i would get a good reply in here. i am mating a jack russel today. what is the procedure?? she is in season ect.. i was thinking along the lines of chuck them in the cage and leave to it for an hour. will the process need repeating??

Have you thought that it might be a good idea to READ something on the subject of breeding dogs before diving in as you seem to be? Not wishing to sound aggressive or grumpy, but if you come on here asking a question like that should you really be considering breeding in the first place? Why not Google: breeding dogs, or the reproduction of dogs: better still, find yourself a good dog breeder local to you and ask them a few questions.

 

Or am I merely biting at a windup question?

I wouldnt chuck them in a cage, if the bitch isnt ready she will end up attacking the dog and you could well have 2 fighting dogs to seperate on your hands Skycats right you should read up as much as you can on the subject, and then some, and better still ask experienced breeders, or if you can get one to assist you, then all the better.

a question on mating i had was. if for example you had a bitch that was 23 tts and u wanted to line her with a bigger dog how much bigger can the dog be if the bitch was that high. what do people think. michael

just leaving them too it is not an option .ive been trying to get a lurcher and grey to breed for 2 days and certainly not a case of chuck them in a cage and i dont think id like to see my dogs in that situation .

i think you need to do some serious studying before you breed anything .
