Badgers drying out bedding under crag ledges

Recommended Posts

I once watched as they stacked firewood for the winter.........amazing site :notworthy:

Ha ha thats a goodun milf! lol

But this stuff looks like it has been gathered up like they would for their normal bedding but put under these crags. Around the area there are obvious signs where badgers have scratched it off the bank sides etc.. and a nice track to the sett. Honestly seams its been stored there in the dry. It has definatly not been the wind etc.. as there are varying degrees of dryed out leaves, from green to bone dry. With obvious badger tracks passing the place. Ive been working around badgers all my life, and its the only place i see this done.

Im going to keep watch from a distance as they are often out and about well before sunset in these woods, hopefully ill find out if it is them or not.

P.S Is there really any need for all the silly comments??

Those southern badgers are very clever wilfred  Ermmm, I'm sure the badgers wouldn't be testing for moisture levels and carrying it back when dry, surely this is just turned out bedding??????

Yeah quite possibly, but its placed under the ledge, and must get used again as it is always changing, with new stuff being added.
