with all the talk on here on lines, what defines a line , brey , barker, buck, cowen, brightmore , or are these just names of men who worked and bred terriers, worker to worker, black to black, border x lakeland, or are all terriers just cross breds some like lookers , some dont care, when dose a line become your own, why breed at all just buy off some one who has workers and take a chance, or experiment and cross breed a line, puppy peddler or perfectionest , lets have your views.

As long as a dog works thats all that SHOULD matter, hwoever there are some that do like to have the name behind a dog.

My veiw is that aslong as it works it dont really matter what it looks like or what names it come from. I imagen it could help put a few more £'s on the price of a litter though

Spot on oldnog, working ability first and last. Named lines fine as it gives an indication that the dog has had effort and thought put in to it,s breeding to produce whats required . It,s not a garentee though , as not all dogs will reach standard what evers in them , just how it is.Every thing else is subjective as we all favour different things ie breed , colour , coat ect. You can spend 20 years getting your own line or fork out on a garenteed dog the choice is up to the individual .No rules , so you can take the route that suit,s you depending on your free time , space and cash flow.....Enjoy it....
