Fox scents

I remember watching an old Warrener video where he soaked a vixen coat in a bucket of water for a few weeks, then used the water in a spray bottle, also seen "fox scents" for sale in the country maids weekly on the Arthur Carter page, i know they would normally be used to mask the human smell for shooters plus may be good used for trapping fox, but what other ways can it be used?

Have any of you used it in empty or false earth's? if so what`s the results you got? (SORRY ABOUT ALL THE QUESTIONS) but its a case of don`t ask don`t know!

I think it will be more useful in the back end of the season, as this time of year the vixen will be seeing off the cubs and they will take what ever comfortable shelter they can find.

Basically i have a few small earth's on one of my digging permissions that are never holding any more, i have dug them twice but never had anything else at home in the last two years, always back filled the best way possible, but nothing ever seems to use them now, the fox are still taking game birds and have been seen doing so, this land is no good for shooting, my mate has guns and would love the chance to go out and pop the ginger one but it is a no go place for guns, so i was just thinking if i can get the local fox's to start using the earth's on the land again i can stop the drop in feathered friends and put a smile back on mr X`s face, if this SCENT thing ain't the way please let me know what you think will help

Dont know if the scents will help to get the earths used again, but when I make an artificial, I always put a dead cat in the end. Foxes love em for some reason, and they seem to get used much quicker. I have used a foxes coat soaked in a sealed bucket, with a wee vent in the top for snaring, and it certainly draws in any territorial foxes in the area. As far as fox scent sprays etc go ive only ever used them for training the dogs on, with hunting/tracking.

Sorry if thats not much help, but its my pennorth worth.!!
