Guest friedrice
can't figure out the release. I think it's just a split peg arrangement - bit like a Larsen. May be hinged at the ends no split peg john, and fenn had three sizes of the clapper out at the time Quote Link to post
john b 38
Well after some very frantic (and amazingly clever) searching on the net I discovered a detailed piccy of the one I was looking for. It is an old Goshawk trap, still used abroad. Quite clever mechanics but not too difficult to reproduce I hope. H Link please Quote Link to post
TOMO 29,202
So is it for birds, or rabbits, what? Quote Link to post

dogs-n-natives 1,182
can't figure out the release. I think it's just a split peg arrangement - bit like a Larsen. May be hinged at the ends I could get a pic, but it may be a wee while, as i dont have a computer at home, I use my friends now and then. The trigger is the perch that the bird lands on, which releases the arms that clap together. It works in the same prinsible as a Fenn, tunnel trap catch. The diameter of the catching arms(which, when set, form a circle) is about a meter. The spring runs lengthways in line with the pivot point of the two arms, and it is fairly strong Underneath is a compartment in which you could put a birds kill, or a live pigeon etc.. ( just for people who are not aware, these traps are now illegal, and all birds of prey are now protected.) Edited July 17, 2008 by dogs-n-natives Quote Link to post
Guest Ditch_Shitter
That " Auction " will mysteriously end, before the highest bid takes it. As per usual. I just remembered that one and checked the page? " The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing. " What did I f*cking tell ye!!! C*** never even got a bid on it! And he sure as hell never got anything Approaching what I offered him for it that time ~ not off the guy who'll have made him an offer by e mail! Quote Link to post
