One or two things spring to mind. The treadle seem quite far back, can the rabbits get at the bait over the top of the treadle? Can you move it forward by 3 inches? How fine a setting are you using? Does the trap spring when the treadle is depressed? Is the wire that connects the treadle to the door too long? Of course the obvious one is have you tried springing the trap yourself?

Thats all I can think of for now, let us know how you get on.

PS. Do a search on this forum for trapping rabbits in cages, there are some VERY successful trappers, I think Chalkwarren is but one, there are several though.

what are you baiting with?

have used these traps for the railways, 30 plus in a line, 20ft apart, with very good results, we used carrot chips, dont put whole carrot in, as they can go under the tread plate and stop it from being depressed, just chip a few bits of carrot with your knife, behind the tread plate

i was just shavin a carrot in and around the trap but could of had a stick or something stoping the plate from dropping never thought to check to be honest :icon_redface::icon_redface::icon_redface::no: you just made me think when u mentioned the carrot lol thanks stubby.. *hero* lol :signthankspin:
