hy,my 14 year old has bin doing my head in for an air rifle for his birthday,so after having a word with the keeper on the estate he beats for i decided to give in and mail order one .i browsed through a couple of airgun worlds and opted for a B.S.A LIGHNING XL COMBO WITH 3X9X40 SCOPE.I chose this model as it is not too heavyannd as it is a springer ,he can shoot as many pellets through it as he likes without having to recharge it like a pcp.I was wondering if any of you people out there have tried this gun and what you think of it grouping, hunting etc.

Excellent choice [bANNED TEXT]. IMHO the best mail order place is www.theairguncentre.com they appear a bit more expensive than others (uttings are usually the cheapest) but their service is second to none and you have to remember that the rifle comes with pellets, case etc. and has been tuned :good: Plus you get the benefit of a lifetime guarantee and you can send it back whenever to have it repaired free, overhauled free. I bought my HW95k from them and they've displayed the best service ever. On Thursday I'm ordering another rifle, dicided what rifle I wanted - not even a question about where to buy, and the guys are always keen to elp and have a chat. I can't recommend them highly enough, ask for Terry, he's a top bloke.

I,ll second that misty, the airgun centre are excellent. Remember, it isnt always the cheapest, thats the best, good after sales service counts for a lot, and not being talked to like a bloody idiot helps, unlike some shops i could mention. :icon_eek:

If you take an air weapon over 12 ft/lbs with ANY pellet, you are breaking the firearms act 1967, and the maximum penalty, for an illegal firearm, [ which is what it becomes] is 10 years inside.Do you really want to do 10 years for a poxy couple of ft/lbs?
