whippet08 8 Posted June 22, 2008 Report Share Posted June 22, 2008 hi all after deciding too get some campbell khaki i built a duck house which i put on the island of my pond i purchased them yesterday and put them in the duck house for the night. this morning i let them out and now they are nowhere too be seen,do you think they will come back too there house,im new too keepeing ducks,there home is very nice but will they come back? any help would be great Quote Link to post Share on other sites

BlueCoyote 0 Posted June 23, 2008 Report Share Posted June 23, 2008 i agree with the others. pen them up, feed them, get them used to the area then let them out. all but four of mine were hatched and raised out here. but the other three have been here long enough that they dont wander too great a distance. in fact, a few weeks ago i left the gate open while moving bags of feed from the car to the barn. the ducks followed me out, then back in.. then back out.. then back in.. then back out... well you get the idea lol Quote Link to post Share on other sites
whippet08 8 Posted June 24, 2008 Author Report Share Posted June 24, 2008 yes ive sorted this out,one of the ducks came back,i have since got another and have the two in a pen now,untill they get used to the place like youve said,at the moment they seem a bit wary and quite thin i think,also anyone know how many handfulls(approx) of layers pellet a day two ducks should have,at least while there penned up .cheers Quote Link to post Share on other sites
