Arte you talking abouyt strimmers, no offence but going by your spelling I assume you are. I bought a stihl strimmer second hand for 60euro, needed a new handle got one for 10 euro at the lawnmower repair shop, and touch wood going well. If I bought one new i'd go for a straight shaft brushcutter/strimmer.

I've got an fs55r and its spot on, you cant really go wrong with stihl unless its a shit second hand one!!!! but for £500 you'll be able to get a proper goodun!!!

what model would be good in the still range for bramble and heavy use ?

have a look at the stihl website, the fs10 looks to be top spec but it dont give a price. depends on things like how often you're gonna use it, how heavy are we talking, i'd go for the handlebar model on whatever one you go for!!!
