gaining new permissions/shoots

Hi All,

 

Just thought you might like to know . . . . .

 

 

I have recently been in talks with another landowner (not too far from where i live, as it goes) and asking if he had anyone helping with the pest/vermin types i noticed on his land. He told me that he hadn't in fact got anyone, but that if i was interested then i could approach him on it.

 

Unfortunately, I hadn't got anything on me at this first (and totally unexpected, i might add) meeting, and so i left my contact details and got his number to arrange a further meeting. All looking hopeful - so far, thought I. Lol

 

And so, on meeting him the second time, i had turned up with my shooting file/portfolio thingy (with copies of this years General Licenses etc. in it) and basically gave him a good account of myself, took him through my file, and presented him my permission letter as well as the grant of permission letter. (Here . . .) Also gave him a little leaflet thing i made up on Excell - sort of like a 'get to know me' type thing.

 

He is now in the process of signing them and will contact me so i can then go pick them up from him ( this was my suggestion - to show willing and so forth, like )

 

Anyway, it all looks good so far, from where i'm standing, like. So you see guys, it would appear that these 2 documents are working well (as i had hoped for when i first had the idea of writing them), and i am happy with my little lot, so to speak. I would be happier still if they work just as well for any of the members on here too!

 

Oh, almost forgot - update on my local Crem shoot: My [almost 9 year old] son Liam (Blue Dragon on here) has been granted shooting permission there recently - he started off 'guesting' up there with me originally, just target shooting - longer range than he can get in our garden you see. The Crem Super has seen him in action and knows he is a sensible young gun and asked me if i wanted permanent permission for him - only a fool would have said no. So now he has permission in his own name at the crem - another totally cool and unexpected thing that has happened for us.

 

To those of you who haven't yet got permissioned shoots - KEEP AT IT, it WILL happen!
