DDD 4
Get in touch with the local plod & help them out, be seen to be on the LAWFUL side, by the sounds of these gits a f**king up the land for generations, you know what farmers are like - very long memories. I'm just back in from some rabbit control, phoned our local police last night to say I was going to be there this morning, got a reference number just in case. All in all very helpful, the bloke at the control rom was very surprised to have someone call over this. A bonus for shooters methinks.

Tiff 36
We were roading the dogs to get ready for last season in an area we had just gotten permission on and hadn't been to see the other 3 farmers in that area. It is in the middle of freaking nowhere, no houses, just a few farms with vast stretches of farm roads and nothing on them, pretty open areas. Roughly 8 mile stretch, it was about 9pm and dark. All of a sudden from nowhere a big truck pulls up behind us fast, switching their lights on. There we were, whistling the dogs in as one is a slowpoke and one ranges out too far ahead. We were scrambling to grab hold of them and the truck stops right behind us, farmer jumps out demanding to know what we were up to while looking in the back of the truck. We gave the name of the farmer we had permission from as well as his dad, the dude immediatly relaxed and apologized saying they'd been having problems with people "spotlighting" deer, taking the backstraps and leaving the rest to rot in the creek that feeds the farmers stock ponds, 4wheeling in their fields, etc. Those guys make it hard for the rest of us to get permission. And being wasteful drives me nuts!
