Hazel Cage traps

OK then - lets do H's for now as it's easier to draw

When it's set the cage is proped against a vertical stick - lets call that the 'prop'. The top of this prop is held in position by the second, angled stick - lets call that the 'support'.

The weight of the trap pushes on the prop but can't push it over because of the support. Normally the trap would slide down the prop and push the bottom of the prop away instead but it can't because of the wire loop. So the whole structure is stable.

When a bird treads on the wire it bends downwards, allowing the base of the prop to move away, causing the structure to collapse.
