shell 42
Had a trip up to some persmission yesterday and took the whole team with us, 4 Borders and 2 lurchers. As we set off it was peeing it down, but by the time we got there the rain had thankfully eased off a little, still, everywhere was a mud bath! It wasn't a bad day really, although nowhere near as good as some of the previous trips up there. Accounted for 34 rats, plus a couple of nests of young. Didn't manage to get so many good photos as only Malc and I were the only ones out! Had a look around the farm to start with. Straight away the dogs marked underneath an old trailer unit. Atol said something was there and she doesn't lie. Got one doe and a nest of young from under it. Terriers marked underneath some sheets. Another one bolted. The pups (Asbo and Reeba) both caught a 3/4 grown rat each! Caught 20 odd rats around the farm, then moved onto the land where the free range poultry units were. Had great fun getting the pick up down the track to the units. Mud galore! Managed to slide our way down ok. Wasn't looking forward to getting back up the track though! Had a quick look around, and it didn't look too promising. Got a mark so got the smoker out, terriers stood patiently waiting. Couple of bolts. Mother and daughter! Called it a do and got the pick up sorted for getting back up the track to go home. Had it's moments but Malc managed to get us out! All in all, not a bad day really. Fairly steady away, dogs did well, pups did really well. Some good catches, and some good fun! Shell Quote Link to post

shell 42
langleycharmer - that's her mother in the picture stood next to her. She's pretty much collie x grey, her father is an old fashioned norfolk type lurcher. shell Quote Link to post
