fireman 11,457
I have a hand reared jill in my court who was reared from 2 days old and she works ok,not a blinder but one you can put your hand into a dark tunnel and know she will never get hold of it.She can suffer from a cold now and again maybe due to her not having the imunities from her mother but gets on in every other way the same as my others. One thing she is the most active ferret in my court and is not impressed about being kept away from the hobs although she has only once come into season in her 3 years and didn't take then either. Guest world.hunters
cheers for the sensible replies i have been ferreting and worked ferrets for years but its somethink that i was thinking about weather a hand reared ferret would be good in the field as aposed to ferrets reared by its mother. and weather or not they could be trained to set there own nets aswell :feck: W.h Quote Link to post
slickdicko 0
i the wost person 2 ask about ferrets as i have v little ex in them but do thy not have 2 be hand reared so there taime ?? i think he's asking hand reared as in fed by hand from birth instead of with the jill .. ie she wont accept them etc... and therefore would not have the benefit of their mothers experience etc.. if thats the case show it the shovel! great question world hunters Quote Link to post
