Guest ripstop
Hi why dont you muzzle him thats what i do I use a rubber thimble or just plain hand pluck, and never been bitten by my dogs. Quote Link to post
Miss Tarka 3
Im a groomer and the hair under the belly is always the hardest to strip out, i would try hand pulling with finger and thumb and if it is still not coming out easily you could use thinning scissors(they dont have to be professional grooming ones) Hope this helps, Miss Tarka x Quote Link to post
Stevie D 9
If he's bitten you already, he definitely won't appreciate you trying to hand strip his belly!!! Just use clippers or scissors underneath. Those combs with the replaceable blades aren't great but will do for thinning out. Thumb & finger does the job fine. Don't be too heavy handed and take your time. Some dogs enjoy it, others don't! Stevie Quote Link to post
wink hound 0
biteing when stripping i think your dog has some mental issues you want to worry about before you worry about the stripping. Quote Link to post
Guest ripstop
biteing when stripping i think your dog has some mental issues you want to worry about before you worry about the stripping. Just be very careful, mine likes it, couldnt get away with one of them strippers, you can get some very good wooden handled ones, but it will cost you, but will last for years and do a much better job, still say thumb and fingers. jacko 1
HI, ONE OF MY BORDERS CAN NOD OFF WHILE WE STRIP HIM , ONE WILL PUT UP WITH IT BUT ONE GOES MAD SO WE STRIP HIS BACK AND SIDES AND CLIP HIS BELLY AND BACK LEGS. THEY ALL HATE HAVING THERE FACE DONE SO WE USE THE SCISSORS NOW. I THINK SOME COATS ARE EASIER TO STRIP THAN OTHERS. JACKO. Edited April 24, 2008 by jacko Quote Link to post
