Guest timeout
Heres my problem.I have an old black lurcher bitch.who i have always had a problem with cutting her nails.I cant see the quicks on them.wasnt much a prob when she was worked, but she is 12yrold now and i once took her to the vet but she is not tolerant of strangers in fact she turns into a raving nut case.He wanted to knock her out and cut them charging me a fortune in the process.Money i could live with i suppose but not really sure about knocking her out at that age.Everytime i got to clip them cz she will let me.But she the type of dog if i get it wrong wont let me do anymore.I resorted to using a file but it took ages and not much came off.I got a few strange looks from neighbours amd mates aswell. I've had quite a few greyhounds over the years that have not enjoyed their nails getting clipped, untill recently It's been a chore to cut their nails.About a year ago my mate got a set of weighing scales and a harness.when the greyhounds are off the ground in the harness I can cut their nails without any fidgeting from them.So if you have access to a harness you could try that. You could also try using one of these-http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KINZO-MINI-HOBBY-TOOL-DREMEL-TYPE-CASE-FLEXI-DRIVE_W0QQitemZ250237578717QQihZ015QQcategoryZ29528QQssPageNameZWDVWQQ It might take 2 or 3 times, maybe more for the bitch to accept that buffing her nails down with it isn't going to cause her any pain.
