Guest timeout
I havent hunted with a lurcher in a few years now, still go ferreting but recently i have got the bug again.I currently own a lurcher bitch she is 12years old however she has always had a bit of a mean streak in her when it comes to other dogs and strangers. She has mellowed in recent years but still has that lack of trust to other dogs and people. That was main reason i never breed her,Love her to bits and she has served me well.Im not a expert on lurchers so guessed itr would be better to ask first.I was going to wait till my bitch passed and get a pup,but i really dont want to wait im gagging to get back into it Do you lads reckon my bitch would take to a new pup or would i be stepping into dangerous water? Guest timeout
@smashygadge he looks minted well you have gave me a bit of hope and as i said she has calmed down a lot.I never really bothered about another dog when she was in her prime, she was everything i could ask for.I always maintened that it took a specail type of dog (with mean streak)to bowl foxes. So i stuck with her and dont regret a day.I have decided i will get a pup during my holidays. Guest ocs1867
I have an old bitch who hated other dogs and she even attacked by mates 8wk old GSD but acouple of weeks agao I bought a male staff aged 6months I kept him in the cage for the first night and let her make the first move and check him out. The next day I took them both up in the woods for a run and they have become great friends often eating out of each others bowls and sharing the settee. Quote Link to post
