Rolfe 2
I am trying out some new squirrel cages with a different type of bait set up. Hazel nuts hanging on a wire. I am halfway through a trapping trial..........and so far have had 23 greys in 5 cages over a two week period. They have a mouse bait tray insitu as well for conventional peanut baiting but so far have not needed to bait them. The hazel nuts on the wire stops the alternative bait of peanuts being taken overnight by the wood mice. Quote Link to post
woodga 170
my mate up this end made that type of trap for the red squirrel protection he uses american hazel nuts on the wire as they are bigger and cuts out unwanted catches of birds ect, the mouse bait tray is held in place on my cages with a brass rivet bent around the wire to hold it in place it stops the feeder from moving around when the trap has to be emptied , it also acts as an eye attractant, the door is very simple but very effective and i know they work keep up the good work rolfe Quote Link to post
