just like to add regarding my question on the coat ive always been confused around fells patterdales and lakelands. i thought lakelands were def breed in their own right. i was once told that patterdales were a strain of fell terrier so named cos they originated in a place called Patterdale. to be honest never cared what colour , breed or anything else as long as they could get in the majority of burrows and talk to a fox or give him a ju jitsu lesson. would have to say i am partial to a wee jack russel type more than any other.

would it be fair to say lakelands can be rough or smooth same as the old fox terriers.
