Guest terrierman94 Posted April 1, 2008 Report Share Posted April 1, 2008 (edited) Can anyone help me on firearms certificates im not sure on the law about them i herd you have to be 14 and over to have one but your not allowed to buy amunition or a rifle until you are 18 and you are not allowed to be given one until you are 18. i was wondering do i have to have my own land or can i say that i have premission on other farms whitch i do (over 150acres) all i want is a 22. for the rabbits can any one please help me im sure you rifle owners can help me out on this one .... Just to clear a few things for you; 1.Yes you need to be 14 before you can have an FAC. 2.You can buy guns and ammo at 17. 3.You can be given a firearm at 14/15. Im not too sure on that one, it is definately either or. 4.As long as you have written permission from the landowner, with his consent for you to use a .22r/f then you will be fine, send this letter or a copy in with your application. As long as you have a good reason for the rifle, i.e vermin. and have a cabinet, somewhere seperate to store your ammo, two referee forms filled in correctly and the correct fee, then you will be fine, and forgot to mention a clean criminal record.
